Terms of Sale

By acquiring Manifold products through the Online Store or by any other means you agree to the terms and conditions and procedures set forth on this page. Do not acquire Manifold products if you do not agree to these terms and conditions and procedures.

Payment Options

Credit cards: Manifold.net accepts VISA, MasterCard / EuroCard, and American Express credit cards. All Manifold prices are in US dollars. See the Payments section below for details.

Purchase Orders: Some products, such as upgrades, cannot be ordered by PO. Provided that a purchase order does not attempt to modify these terms and conditions or to impose additional terms and conditions, Manifold Net accepts hard copy purchase orders in English denominated in US dollars from:

When sending a PO, please make sure to include an email address to which the serial number required for installation of Manifold may be sent. This is normally the email address of the user or the of the person who will be installing Manifold System.

Online Orders: The best, most secure way to order online is to use the Online Store.

Prepayment by Wire Transfer or Check: We also accept orders by mail using checks or wire transfers in US dollars. Please contact sales@manifold.net for wire transfer and check information.

Refunds and Returns

Manifold products are normally not returnable nor refundable.

There is a limited, 30-day money-back guarantee that is available for some products. The limited, 30-day money-back guarantee is described in the Refunds and Returns page. The terms and conditions in the Refunds and Returns page are part of these general terms and conditions of sale and licensing that apply to all orders. Serial Numbers and Activation Keys

Manifold is copy-protected using a Serial Number and Activation Key system.

The terms and conditions in the Serial Numbers page are part of these general terms and conditions of sale and licensing that apply to all orders. They have been provided on a separate page for easier navigation.

For information on Activation keys, see the Activation Keys and Serial Numbers help topic. The serial number provided to you when you purchase Manifold will allow it to run for up to 30 days from the date the serial number is issued without an Activation key. An Activation key is required for permanent installation. Requesting an Activation key terminates any return privilege and waives any money-back guarantee.

Read the above pages carefully. Do not order a Manifold product if you have not read the above pages, completely understand their content and agree with the terms and conditions they set forth. Do not order Manifold products if you do not agree to the copy protection mechanism or if you are unwilling to utilize the product within the limitations imposed by the copy protection mechanism.

General Shipping / Delivery Information

Manifold System is downloaded by default. When your Manifold System order is processed you will receive email instructions for downloading your order by Internet. Manifold System downloads are large, 80 MB to over 100 MB. If your Internet connection is not reliable enough to download such large files without error, please also order a Manifold 8.00 DVD (Media Only) product to receive DVD installation media. Manifold System prices do not include DVD media - no DVD will be sent unless you also order a Manifold 8.00 DVD (Media Only) product. It is entirely your obligation to have Internet capability sufficient to download the latest edition of Manifold from the Product Downloads page.

Not all products are available in hard copy, shipped form. In particular, optional extensions to Manifold System such Business Tools, Geocoding Tools or Surface Tools are neither hard copy nor are they downloadable - they are delivered by email as serial numbers that are used to "turn on" these extensions within a compatible Manifold System installation. See the product listings in the Online Store for more information.

Payments / Chargebacks / Wire Errors / Other Errors

Credit cards: The preferred method of payment is to use an accepted credit card via the Online Store. Customers are advised to study this web site carefully and to contact sales@manifold.net to resolve any questions or uncertainties before ordering products.

Chargebacks: Inappropriate chargebacks by credit card customers are costly to process and may subject the person making the chargeback to criminal and civil liability. If you wish to return a manifold.net product, see the Returns and Refunds page to accomplish a return, if qualified. Any unilateral chargebacks will be contested and will be subject to a $75 fee charged to your credit card. By ordering from manifold.net you agree to these terms and conditions and give manifold.net the authority to charge your credit card this $75 service fee to cover the cost of processing any chargeback you issue. Any chargeback will result in permanent cancellation of credit card purchasing privileges and cancellation of all licenses acquired by that customer. manifold.net prosecutes all misuse of credit cards to the fullest extent allowed by law.

Wire Errors: Wire transfer customers should take great care in obtaining full information before wiring funds to manifold.net. Any funds returned for wire transfers sent in error or otherwise cancelled will have a $150 wire transfer fee deducted. Please take the time to have all questions answered before sending a wire transfer to make sure you are ordering what you want. Before sending a wire transfer, please make sure to contact sales@manifold.net to obtain complete instructions.

Other Errors: Payment errors must be resolved within 90 days. When paying by check, please use a delivery method that will assure checks will be delivered promptly and reliably.

Licensing Information

All production manifold.net software is licensed, not sold, using our standard End User License Agreement.

Manifold.net reserves the right to decline to license or sell any product to any person or organization, or to cancel any transaction should manifold.net in its sole and exclusive judgment decide not to do business with a particular party. By way of example and not limitation, some reasons why manifold.net may choose not to do business with a given party or to cancel a particular transaction may include any actual or suspected illegal or immoral activity, any fraud or suspicion thereof in commercial transactions, previous history of chargebacks or other financial abuse, violations of licensing terms and conditions or any profanity, threats or other abusive behavior directed at manifold.net employees, contractors, agents or representatives or threats or other abusive behavior within manifold.net hosted user communities.

Note that the End User License Agreement for Manifold software explicitly specifies that the license terminates if the Agreement is violated. Any such termination may be automatically enforced by the software itself, and if such termination occurs you will not receive any refund for any licensing fees paid. For example, if you violate the Agreement by installing a single license of Manifold on multiple machines for use by multiple people the software will eventually terminate itself and will revoke the serial number for that license.

Manifold products are in general licensed without any technical support service products included in their cost.
