Release 4.50 Demographic Data

Manifold System Release 4.50 includes a vast amount of demographic data (mostly for the United States).  You get the following data sets from the U.S. Bureau of the Census, converted to Microsoft standard mdb format, ready for use within Manifold or other mdb compatible applications such as Microsoft Access database:

1997 Statistical Abstract of the United States: States, Metro Areas and World Countries

Includes a vast array of up-to-date statistics for US States, US Metropolitan Areas, and World countries, ready to display within Manifold.   Provides hundreds of statistics for US States in Agriculture, Resources, Business, Construction, Education, Energy, Geography, Government, Health, Income, Labor, Law Enforcement, Manufactures, Population, Social Insurance and Welfare, Transportation, and Vital Statistics. This spectacular data set also includes 26 fields for Metropolitan Areas and over 180 fields for World countries. Detail (right): Military expenditure per capita.

USA Counties 1996

This comprehensive data set provides over 3400 data items, including age, agriculture, ancestry, banking, business, construction, crime, education, elections, Federal government, local government, Hispanic-origin, health, households, housing, labor force and employment, land area, manufactures, money income, personal income and earnings, earnings by industry, population, poverty, retail trade, service industries, social insurance and human services, veterans, vital statistics, wholesale trade, journey to work. Includes all county data from the 1994, 1988, 1983 County and City Data Books and the 1991 and 1986 State and Metropolitan Area Data Books.   It covers the 50 US states and District of Columbia as well as all 3,141 US counties or county equivalents - over 9 million items of data in all. City and County Databook, 1994

This data set covers places and cities as well as counties and States: It provides 63 major tables of demographic data: 20 each for States and counties, 16 for cities of 25,000 or more, and 7 for places of 2,500 or more plus minor civil divisions (MCDs) for a total of 11,148 places. Detail (right): Cities by percentage of population with Bachelor's degrees or greater.

State and county data files include 244 data fields that cover the following general topics: age, agriculture, banking, building permits, crime, earnings, education, elections, government, health, households, housing, income, labor force and employment, manufactures, population, poverty, retail trade, services industries, social programs, veterans, vital statistics, and wholesale trade.

City data files include 216 data fields that cover most of the subjects listed for State and county files with the exception of agriculture and elections data plus climate data. Place data files include 33 fields from the 1990 Census of Population and Housing on age, education, education, households, housing, income, labor force and employment, population, and poverty.
