System Release 7x Formats
Manifold System Release 7x reads over 80 different vector, raster, terrain and database formats. Many of the formats listed below exist in significantly different subtypes and so constitute more than one format. Manifold will automatically detect such subtypes and use the correct importer. Some "raster" formats can be used for terrain elevation data while some surface formats can be used for images. Some "drawing" formats such as SDTS can contain other types of data such as surfaces. Manifold will work with such variations to import the data correctly.
A few formats (such as writing to .e00 or connecting via native spatial DBMS technologies such as Oracle Call Interface) require Enterprise Edition or above and are so noted.

The Best Buy in GIS !
No
other general purpose GIS package, at any price, delivers so many formats for
you to use. Other GIS packages require expensive add-ons or expensive
conversion applications to access as many formats. Why do older systems
support so few formats? The reason is that many such systems are sold by
companies who also want to sell you map data. Most map data is created
by the government and provided for free (in the US). If a GIS company
reserves for itself the ability to read those government formats, they can
download free data, convert it to their proprietary format and then sell it to
